Minor Cable Box question

I recently got digital cable and had to hook my Tivo up to a cable box. Everything works fine, but I've noticed that the Tivo will start to record a show approx 3 seconds before the cable box changes channels. So, every recoding has a little bit of junk at the beginning that bugs me.

Is there any way to adjust the record time by a few seconds to avoid this?

Nope! TiVo use to blank the video input when changing channels to prevent this, but they got a lot of complaints about that so they turn it off.

Yeah, basically they start recording and send the channel change at the same time. That little lag is the time it takes the box to make the switch.
