I decided to retire my Tivo wireless setup and go with the Netgear XE 103 Ethernet over electrical wiring adapters and the Linksys USB200M USB wired connectors.

I am very pleased with the performance. I haven't done actual network performance stats yet but timed a one hour high quaility recording from my Series 2 Tivo 140 to my Pioneer 810H Series 2. It only took 45 minutes so it appears it can easily keep ahead in real time.

I've heard Netgear overstates speed but this is the performance I am getting with utility reporting I have a 60 Megabit connection on average within my home. Installation couldn't be simpler. I did change encrption code but Tivo simply recognized and used the Linksys USB200M adapters. It was a quick 10-15 minute job max.

I'm am totally satisfied with how easy it was to setup and the significantly improved performance over wireless.

What quality are your recordings? At Good quality I get about 1.5-2x realtime with my current wireless setup.

With a Tivo adapter and a Netgear G router, I get between 2x and 3x real time transfers at best quality between tIvO and my computer, and slightly slower between tIVo units.

I record everything on Best on the 140 because I pull so much over to watch on the 810H connected to my HDTV.

Sounds comparable or near to the best of a G connection. I was previously using a B connection. If WAP had been supported I would've gone G route. I wanted to shutdown the last pod of mine with WEP on it.
