I came home the other night to find my Philips DSR7000 DTivo unit frozed. Long story short it's fried and it needs to be replaced before I loose my mind without TIVO. I have ordered a Directv R10 unit but I'm not sure if an access card comes with it. I know I can order one through D* customer service for $25ish. But can I take my current DSR7000 access card and insert it into the R10? What's the best way? Thanks in advance.

If you bought the R-10 new from a retailer it will come with the access card. You should be able to use your old card in the R-10 if not.
Nearly every time DTV sends out a replacement unit they don't send a card. They expect you to use the card from the existing receiver, so they can keep as few cards in circulation as possible.
The only units that would have a problem with an older card would be the R15, H20, or HR20 and none of those are TiVos, so who cares???
