What the heck is up with the producers of this show?

How cruel was that, flying people all the way to Paris, only to cut somebody when they were barely off the plane?

So Jeffrey gets all sorts of props for doing what he ordinarily does, while Uli gets slapped down for it? And did the producers decide that it was time for Angela to go, so they went out and designed a challenge that they figured she couldn't possibly win?

Now next week Jeffrey is going to be insufferable about how he knocked Angela off the show. I hope Michael ends up beating his sorry ass in the finale.

I wasn't so much disturbed about the Paris trip since next week's challenge appears to be located there, but I do agree it was ruthless. I found it more odd that no one, even Michael and Laura, seemed to be able to hug Angela goodbye, unlike everyone else kicked off. The whole ending was surreal and I think everyone was totally thrown, particularly by the French designer judge. (They were all standing at attention at their desks like Oxford school boys about to be punished).

Jeffrey indeed will be obxnoxious and his former addict paranoia will now find a new target of focus for his insecurity - probably Laura.

Final 3: Michael, Jeffrey, Laura.

Final 3: Michael, Jeffrey, Laura.
I agree with this and hope Michael wins!

I say the final 3 is Michael, Uli, Laura. Uli certainly deserves it.

Angela looked like a wood sprite from Midsummer Night's Dream or something. A wrinkled wood sprite.

I'm not saying that Angela didn't deserve to lose the challenge. She clearly didn't get it, as you can see on the runway by her inability to answer the question 'where are you going'.

I simply think it is unfair to complain that Angela's garment failed the challenge because it was so wrinkled, when it is clear that she is a person who likes texture and for her, the wrinkles were a feature, not a bug.

If she had designed the garment for a client and the client was all wrinkled, that would be one thing, but here the client was herself, so she did what she liked.

Complain that it was too arty-offbeat so that it wasn't sophisticated enough for Paris, complain about the other design features like the big-ass rosettes, or the colors in the two pieces, whatever. But if you are going to say "you are too wrinkly" then at least say to her "I understand the effect you were trying for, but it doesn't 'read' to others the way it does to you."

If you have someone whose sense of personal style is so out there that they would wear their goofy clothes 'anywhere' then a challenge to design clothes to go 'anywhere' combined with a dictum to 'design for yourself' seems designed on purpose to eliminate that individual.

The challenge also seemed too tailored for Jeffrey to win, just as if they had wanted to keep Robert and done S2's 'design for a Barbie doll' contest. Obviously they don't want to lose Mr. Mouth and the best way to keep him and have him mouthing off is to fix it so that he won while Angela was eliminated.

I didn't care so much about the wrinking aesthetically (since it was like a girl scout outfit, the wrinkles fit in somehow), but part of the challenge was to design an outfit that would travel well. As the other designers recognized, one central aspect of a good outfit for travel is minimal wrinkling. Angela totally failed that aspect of the challenge, and I don't think it's wrong to comment on that. (To me it was just one more indication that she didn't understand the challenge.) Now maybe you're right and she enjoys accululating wrinkles as part of her personal style, but if you're asked to design an outfit for travel, that issue is certainly fair game.

I just couldn't help but think when the French judge said "An-che-laa, you are not a jet setter" that the correct answer from Angela would have been "You're right, I am NOT a jet setter" because it was the absolute truth. Angela cannot be something she's not and shouldn't try to be. Having said that, yea another fabric choice would have been a good thing. And it's not like she had to leave that same day from Paris, she did get to spend the night. So she had a full day there. This was just Angela's time to go, and if you listen to her exit interview, she knew it.

I get so ticked off when Jeff actually does something good, because he's a total ass. But that outfit was very nice. Of course, the little tiny "codpiece" was quite appropriate for him. It could have been smaller.

I thought Michael might have taken the win again. Seersucker in a cargo pant??? And he pulled it off! I didn't think so at first, but I am now convinced Michael's gonna win in the end.

Not sad to see Angela go. I never liked anything she did, and the only reason I would have wanted her to stay was to get the last laugh on Jeffrey, except for the fact that Jeffrey is substantially more talented. Either way, her outfit was a joke. As for the argument that "wrinkled is her style, and their designing for themselves." I can understand that maybe Angela's style IS to look like a Wood Sprite, but add in the blown out and straightened hair and the oversized aviator glasses and your suddenly staring at a confused outfit where Angela is trying to incorporate her arts and crafts look with the inflated rocker ego look. It didn't work at all. Take away the 9 hours of flying, and she was still going home.

On the ending: I, too, found it really odd that everyone just watched her walk out the door. The editing even enhanced the strangeness of it, as you saw a clip of Michael saying, "Angela is just the sweetest person, I will really miss her smile, etc..etc.." and then they show her walking right past Michael. I was defintiely expecting a hug. It felt cold. Hopefully she got to spend a couple days in Paris on Bravo's dime.

Kane's outfit, for that matter, was also a joke, but when Jeffrey kept comparing Kane's outfit to something Liberace would wear, my reaction was, "Well, Liberace kind of SUITS Kane, so maybe..." If Kane had lost the bellbottoms, he would have had a better chance at avoiding the "Elvirace" look.

I was really dissapointed that Vincent's look didn't get taken task more. Besides being exceptionally boring, the neck line was also a total disaster. I have no idea why he wasn't lambasted, except for the fact that maybe the boredom caught the judges so much off guard that they convinced themselves that Vincent's outfit actually transcended boredom. I have no idea. It was awful and I hope he goes next week.

As for the ones I liked: Jeffrey and Michael. Jeffrey's was pretty neat. I liked his top and jacket a lot, but the pants were too much for me. Not to say I hated them, but it kind of looked like he slipped a jacket over a unitard. Michael's, on the other hand, was pretty much perfect for him. He managed to bring out the hip-hop style that he loves without making an outfit that everyone looked at and would think, "I saw P-Diddy in that last week." Rather, they'd think, "I bet P-Diddy would look great in that."

My reaction to the winners: Michael stole a win from Jeffrey in the "trash" outfit. Jeffrey stole one back in this one.

My final 3: Michael, Uli, Jeffrey.

Laura could break that up, but I'm not a huge fan. I am tired of her high-brow elegance, if that makes sense. I still think there is a clear top 4, with Vincent and Kane to go over the next 2 weeks.

I was excited to see Laura's sketch, especially done in a fun, vibrant color...then she picked a boring color for the dress and disappointed. I'm still a huge Laura fan though, but hope she mixes it up a little more than that.

I wasn't terribly disappointed to see Angela go, but would rather have seen Jeffrey go (based on not being able to stand him, and being sick of the heavy sighs and rude huffiness he makes when judges say something good about the other designers' work) or Vincent (based on the challenge). Vincent's was just incredibly boring and I agree about the neckline. GAG! It's also a very good thing he's not normally his own model...his walk looked very uncomfortable and I thought that it made the clothes look like they must not fit for him to be walking like that.

I thought Kayne's outfit suited him perfectly. I'm glad he didn't go with everyone else's gut about it and stayed true to his client: HIM. Sure, it was quite shocking and wild, but it's so Kayne!

Uli's dress bored me...I swear that it was one that she'd already made for herself and worn on the show! But I do give her kudos for her ability to mix wild designs and have it look cohesive.

Final thoughts: Jeffrey needs to grow up or go home, Vincent also needs to go home.

Go Michael and Laura!!!

I too think Jeffrey stole the win. His look, while dead-on for the assignment and him, was timeless. It's Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck, Mick, etc. You could have put Vincent in his look with an half-smoked cig and sunglasses and he'd have looked jetsetter - washed-up jetsetter (sort of Bill Nighy in "Love Actually") but still.

Michael's look was hip and NOW. Not everyone could carry it off and if you wear something like that, you'd better have the attitude too. Seersucker cargos? Yowsa!

IMO, if Jeffrey and a similarly dressed entourage were walking to the gate, I would wonder "hmmm, who's that?"

If I saw Michael and a similarly-dressed understated bling, but slick crew walking to the gate, I'd think "Damn, I wish I was going to that party!"

That's why I'd give Michael the nod; but after 2 wins, Jeffrey would've fallen off the wagon.

As to the finale, I think Bravo will make one of the women a finalist but while I think Ule has more talent, the editing seems to be setting her up with judges like she's a one-trick pony and unfortunately, I can't recall anything she's done but flowing print silk, so I think I agree.

But Laura's show against M & J has no chance of standing up, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I would have given the win to Michael as well. His outfit just seemed more original than Jeffrey's. Jeffrey communicated "rock star" for sure, but like a washed-up rock star from the 1970s. Michael's was more modern, and more interesting.

How funny was Michael's showing Kayne how to walk the runway?
"...I don't turn around.." --Michael
"I guess it's easier [to put on the attitude] if you're from the ghetto..I'm from white trash" --Kayne ;)
Vincent walked like a grumpy old man getting up in the middle of the night to pee; dude, get some Flomax! :p
I soooo wanted Michael to win...Jeffrey's outfit was cool-looking, but it had been done before; Michael's is new and exciting!
The look on Michael Kors' face when he saw Angela's butt-rosettes? PRICELESS! He was absolutely horrified!
I did love seeing more of Tim...how dare Jeffrey dis him like that ("How am I going to manage without Tim Gunn popping up in my life from time to time?") Real sincere, Jeffrey! What a big crybaby!

You know with all the dissing on Kayne from the judges, I LIKED his outfit and thought it fit him. The whole thing looked well made and I didn't think the piece on the back was bad. In fact that fact that he had it on the cuffs as well was a nice touch.
I liked Michaels much better then Jeffereys, and did agree that Angela should go. I just hate the fact that Jefferey will be talking about it for weeks to come.
Smallwonder, I didn't like Vincents outfit till you said the bit about a half smoked cigarette and some sunglasses. That would have been perfect and I could see it. Or maybe a hat of some kind.
You know, I enjoy Lauras designs but am not sure she got it this time. The dress looked more like a cocktail hour or night out dress then a jetsetting dealie.
I agree that Michael and Laura should be in the final 3. I just am not sure who else. I guess Jefferey, but I really don't like his nasty attitude. And from such a nice mom!!

Now for the rest of you, YMMV, but if you go by the various color schemes (Color Me Beautiful and all the rest that came later), I am a Contrast type. I look best if there is some sort of light/dark contrast in my outfit.

So for me, having something like a blouse in a rose-beige fabric which is the same shade as my skin tone would be a bad idea, because there is no contrast. I will be much better off saving the rose-beige fabrics for lingerie when I may need a 'nude' look.

I know this, but seeing the results of this challenge really drove that home. I look good in pure white, so an outfit with fabrics like Michael's would look smashing on me. Something like Laura's dress would be a disaster. The more I think about it, the stupider her fabric choice seems. She had the opportunity to do something with color and threw it away. Instead she looked like a biscuit. A pregnant biscuit at that. What was she thinking? I can understand wanting to do a 'classic' color but that was literally a 'nothing' color on her.

And while I can give Vincent a bit of a nod for his first attempt at menswear, the fit was bleah. I don't like the overlong pants legs, and the top looked like he had scrounged it off a rack in a plus-sized (women's) department.

I have to give Kayne's outfit props for being well-made, well-fitted, and totally him, though I think the black was too overpowering for him and he would have done better using more color. The belt buckle, though, was absolutely fab. Yet another victim of the 'design for yourself' idea. :(

I think Jeffrey's an ass just like the rest of you, but I don't think he was dissing Tim when he said that. I actually think it was more a remark of endearment.

Great episode.

Anybody notice near the beginning, when they did the model selection, that when Amanda was chosen at the end and walked through the door backstage, the model sitting close to her mouthed "f***"? That was hilarious. Do you think she doesn't realize how much the other models don't like her?

And speaking of models, after some original excitement with model switching, everyone is back to the standard 'stick with your model' deal. Which I understand, cause you are used to their shape and the fit of their body.

I thought Michael should have won this challenge, though Jeffrey's outfit was perfectly acceptable. Angela? Blech. Whoever said she didn't 'get' the challenge was right on the money.

I agree. I thouhgt he was being sincere, and thought it was a pretty nice moment. Jeffrey's not an ass to everyone, just to people he doesn't like, (which isn't an excuse at all as there are plenty of people I don't like, yet I don't spend my time making sure they and everyone else know it.) Remember that when Robert left, he actually started crying and sobbed to his mom, "I just hate it when good people go home. And he was one of the good ones left." Or something along those lines.

I couldn't agree more. As bad as Angela's garment was, I was really hoping Jeffrey would get kicked off before she did. Not only did they ship her all the way to Paris just to be eliminated, she was eliminated by a designer she admires.

Hmm..you know, the first time I watched, I thought he might be sincere, but in talking it over with my gal pal @work we decided he was being insincere... I hope not, but I fear so.
I LOVE Tim, so like I said, I hope we are wrong and you and the other poster are right. Tim can pop by my place anyday!

Michael, Uli, and Laura? I just don't think Bravo producers will pass up the chance to have Jeffrey and all his drama in the end at Fashion Week. If anything, IMO, he's a sure bet.

Otherwise, it would be a bit anti-climatic before the finale.

But like I said, I guess we'll all have t wait-and-see...

I have to admire Angela's reaction to being cut. I would've cried like a baby, or ran the opposite direction from the taxi...I'm NOT leaving Paris!!!!

While I didn't like Angela's design, I could see it on either of the Olsen twins before I could see ANY jetsetter wearing Kayne's get up. To trash him so completely then cut Angela? Seemed weird to me.

Edited to add: Jeffrey is just an ass, and I didn't see anything particularly superb or trend setting with his design. It was Prince meets that Barker guy...Kind of.
