If you've noticed and are interested in this movie that's airing on Hallmark this weekend (a sequel to the old Merlin miniseries), there's some interesting information about it.
Here (http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=0&id=37752) is an interview with the very annoyed director, discussing how his 4-hour miniseries was edited down to a 3-hour movie without his consent or involvement. If you're interested, however, the original, uncut mini is already out on DVD, and can be had for less than $10 shipped.

The sequel is already out on DVD too (netflix has it)
There was another movie, I think it was Hercules (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0420408/) that was aired on NBC in a "cut down" version, that was supposed to be aired later with a full extra hour.. (on sci fi I thought)..
But netflix's DVD is only 127 minutes, which would be about 4 hours of airtime with commercials.. so I don't think it has extra content.

After reading the reviews from people who bought the dvd on Amazon, I have decided to not buy it. In fact I may just watch the original one again to erase all the stuff I read about the sequel.
SHIVER. Its like watching Superman 4. You just wonder who could have come up with such a lame story and made a movie out of it.
Thanks for the heads up. In this case you actually saved me from seeing it on the shelf somewhere and picking it up. I am very careless when it comes to movies I love. I will go out of my way to pick up something I think will be great.

The way you said it implied the original Merlin mini was out on DVD rather than the new Apprentice mini.

I thought that since I put the 1998 mini into a paranthetical aside, it would be clear that the subject of the second paragraph would be the same as the first, that is, the 2006 mini. Guess I was wrong!
