I have both of these units and they are both filling up with programming. Is there a way to export the programming to DVD? I don't want to delete these programs that are on there. I heard using Dazzle with Pinnacle is all I need. IS that true? are those the only programs/hardware I need besides me tivo, pc and dvd burner?

Right. If your PC has audio/video capture inputs and the appropriate video capture software (e.g. Pinnacle), you should be good to go. Connect the DVR's AV ouputs to the PC matching AV inputs and use your video capture software to "record" the DVR's programs to your PC. For there it's easy to burn to DVD or whatever.

One note for the HR10-250 DVR, though ....
Its SVideo and composite video outputs are only active when the HR10-250 is set to output 480i resolution.

I'm really new to this so I have questions...

So I need to connect dazzle to the DVR R10 output and then connect dazzle to my pc/laptop and run the pinnacle software. Do I use the "save to vcr" option on my DVR? and if I'm using my HR10 do I do "save to vcr" and change my settings to 480? Does dazzle save it to my PC or send it straight to the dvd? I don't have a high tech video card or anything on my pc

Yes, use the save to VCR function.

It will save it as a file on your system, and then you can use th Pinnacle software to put it into DVD format and burn to a DVD

For example I want to put a sports game on DVD and the broadcast time is 2.5 hours. First thing I do is "tivo" it and then after that I "save to vcr" once its converted to my PC can I edit out the commercials and then prepare the file to be burned.

even with the "stock" video card I can do this?

Be warned that this is a slow process. Transfer, edit, render, burn.

For less than $100 you could get a DVD recorder and skip the computer parts altogether. You'll still have commercials, though.

Yes, that should work. Just make sure your "stock" video card is supported by your PC's video capture software.

I bought Dazzle so I guess I'll find out when I try it.
