I know there has been discussions after discussions concerning the R15 so I will not even go there at this point.
Needless to say I just purchased one and am still learning the ropes. I do have one question on behalf of my wife...
She would like to record a show that plays on two different channels. The first channel, 245 (TNT) shows repeats only. The second channel, 46 (CBS) shows the newest "first run" episodes.
So, I programmed a season pass for channel 245. The R15 will not allow me to program another season pass for the same show on channel 46. Or will it? I know I can do it manually, but would like to know if I am missing something.
Thanks for any help.

Since the R15 is not a TiVo, I suggest you ask in the R15 forum at www.dbstalk.com

Stevel,
Technically the R10 is only 1/2 Tivo, but we talk about that here dont we? I just thought someone might have some info. Perhaps I was mistaken?

The R15 currently is not able to have a season pass programmed for two different channels. You can schedule a recurring manual recording, or you can schedule individual episodes to record, on the second channel.
I don't know if that will be corrected/changed in a future update.

I think this was changed for the new HR20 non TiVo HD DVR, so I hope it goes to the R-15 too.

Does the R15 have the equivalent of the TiVo Wishlist? If so, maybe that would help.

The R10 is a full DirecTiVo. I do not know where you got it is only 1/2 TiVo.I would guess that he's implying that a DirecTiVo (any DirecTiVo) is only half a TiVo.
Probably because you pay DirecTV rather than paying TiVo directly, and DirecTV hasn't enabled any of the home media or show transfer capabilities that the standalone TiVo's have.

That makes it a full TiVo to me. I guess TiVo software running on a Comcast designed box would only be 1/2 a TiVo :)
