Any help is greatly appreciated. I have had the same Toshiba Tivo SD-H00 unit hooked up for 2 years to the same outlet. As of August 1st, my unit gave me a notice that the unit needs to download program info. I have attempted to connect probably 25 times and get "Failure. Can not connect" or various messages that info can not download. I spoke to Toshiba who blamed the modem. The long and short of it is that I bought a factory refurbished RS-TX20, went through guided setup, went to test the phone connection and had the same "Failure. Can not connect to server" . I have tried every phone outlet in my home, had At&T test for static, removed all my DSL filters and even disconnected my DSL temporarily just to get that initial connection and am continually getting this fail message. My next step is to take it to a friends home to try this guided setup done, then bring home and set up for wireless connection with the TIVO wireless unit. Any advice?? Literally I am at the point that I have tried everything and consistently get a fail message. For years I have had no problem and have used the TIVO basic service. Now it's as if I have been cut off.
