Ok I realize we will always know more than the character. But did anyone else think he was really really slow in figuring all this out??? I was a bit insulted that I knew most everything way sooner than him. I like surprises and got virtually none.
I'm glad walt said he would always believe him.
The cheney thing was a bit too lame. I felt like they were making a political statement. And how long ago was the crazy guy killed? If they find out he was dead 12 hours and then 'shot' the vp while he was dead...the whole thing would fall apart.
and the inferrence that jonny goes to the dark side...never gonna happen. So what's the point of even asking? I'd be pissed that guy was inside his house and where's that great security system they have used in previous shows?

I was wondering that too ... any decent crime scene/morgue tech would be able to figure out he wasn't killed at the time. The blood on his shirt was dry already! All part of the cover-up, I guess.

My guess is that storyline is over and we'll never hear about it again.
Johnny has to take down the bad guys. They won't be taken down by their own mistakes.

Not sure if they're smart enough to bring this up again, but remember a few seasons ago, future-Johnny had the Time Magazine with him on the cover. That whole season finale was implying that Johnny caused Armageddon.
So now they want him to join with them. If he does, guess what? Johnny causes Armageddon.
If they do it right, Johnny unwittingly joins with them to try to STOP it, but all the while could be starting it at any moment. That'll be two or three episodes for next season, everything else standalone.

And that's why the show has become so uninteresting to me since the second season. After that, they went to Freak of the Week, with the actual storyline of the show being pushed WAY into the background. So I find my self watching, tapping my foot, hoping against hope that this week will be one of the rare episodes that actually moves things forward an inch or two.
If it weren't a summer show, I probably wouldn't even bother.

Same here ... I guess that's one good thing about these short summer season shows like Dead Zone, 4400, etc.

I found it extremely unlikely that the close group of soldiers who have been through all sorts of life threatening, dangerous situations and always covered each other's backs are now suddenly killing each other. It seemed impossible that they would do that.
The photo of the squad was a great "revel".
Stillson is now in line for vice president. Just one step away from "the button." Did he know ahead of time that he was going to be shot? He doesn't seem like the kind of person who would agree to that.
Was Sarah in more than one episode this whole season? What's up with that? She is still in the opening credits, so they still have to pay her even if she isn't on camera, right?
Johnny accused Janus of murdering Miranda, and he didn't deny it at all. It was all but a confession.
I wish they would bring Jennifer Finnigan's character back (Alex). They worked well together, and maybe it will take both of them to stop this cabal.
If Johnny joins them, then like Stillson, he will become a patsy for the public to blame, and allowing the real people behind the genocide to get away. Since they know and really, REALLY believe in Johnny's abilities, he has to start thinking one step ahead of them with that in mind.

Yeah, I think next season I'm going to give serious consideration to watching the season premier and finale while ignoring the rest. This was basically a two episode season so I guess that's what I'll expect next year as well, assuming it gets renewed again.

After watching this episode, I realized that the ending of the finale for this season wasn't really any different from last season. Both had Janus making Johnny an offer he can't refuse. And, the same offer at that.
Why are the writers (or should I say, producers) dragging this out?

Why are they dragging it out? Because in the book, the Stillson-becomes-president-and-causes-nuclear-war story line was the primary story line, and when Johnny stopped him, the book was over, so I assume that they are stretching it out until USA cancels the show and then they will complete the Stillson story as the series finale.

Evidently they don't know when enough is enough. I doubt there are many viewers who have been sitting around waiting for this storyline to play out. Those that have been patient with the show haven't been given squat, and you raise a good point that the show made zero progress on this storyline over the entire past season.

I suspect they're afraid that if they turn it into a serialized show that requires you to tune in every week, they'd lose summer viewers specifically.
