I just bought a brand new RS-TX20 a few weeks ago from Sears for $190 in a sealed box. The salesman said it had been in the stock room for quite a while but it was still under full warranty. I got it home and set it up with no problems. I had seen an ad for the standalone Series 2 boxes having a $150 rebate available so I went to the tivorebates site to see if my RS-TX20 would qualify for the rebate. To
my suprise, I was prequalified for the rebate. I mailed in my rebate paperwork about a week ago. The terms of the rebate state that you have to sign up for Tivo service and have it active for 30 days to qualify for the rebate. I am still on
my 45 day trial of the Tivo Plus service. My question is, If I wait until my trial period ends, then sign up for the Tivo Plus service, would I still qualify for the rebate? I have heard that others have had problems getting their rebates. I am
using the Tivo as a secondary DVR since I already have a ReplayTV box with lifetime service and an RCA DRC7000N DVD recorder. I don't really need the Tivo Plus service, but it would be nice to have for a year free after the rebate.
I just don't want to risk spending $150 for something I don't really need then having my rebate rejected.

You do have to subscribe to get the rebate. I don't know if you can wait until the trial is over or not, but I'd think so.
