Can I still take advantage of the multi-TIVO discount if I have a TIVO Series 2 with lifetime service registered to me that is no longer functional and I buy a new one?

I believe the unit must remain active for you to take the MSD. It must be able to call in on a semi-regular basis.

Most problems with TiVos are hard drives. You can get a preloaded hard drive from either weaknees.com or ptvupgrade.com. If you do not feel you can change a hard drive, one of them may do it for you.

If you are so inclined, you can load the hard drive yourself with Instantcake from ptvupgrade.com.
