Tivo Version

I just updated my Tivo to a Series 2. My System Info say that my version is 5.3-01.2.540. I understand that in order to go wireless I need at least version 7.1. Is this correct an will my Tivo automatically update to v7.1 or later.

What wireless USB adapter do you have? I think 7.1 was a requirement for the Tivo Wireless Adapter, IIRC.

Do you have a regular phone line available? If so, hook it up that way. It should pull down that latest software version after a couple connections. (You can force these connections from the network menu.)

When I got my Humax it didn't recognize my TiVo G adapter so I hooked up the phone again and forced a connection (after entering the number in the 7.3 priority list, not sure if that affected it). It took quite awhile to download but it got 7.3.1 and recognized the adapter.

Don't think you need to do the priority list anymore. Pretty sure TivoJerry stated 7.3.1 is being rolled to everyone now.
