Need Help With Hard Drive and thoughts.

Ok i have two samsung DTV Tivo's one in the bed room works fine the other in my living room has very slow to respond Tivo Central.

I think the Hard Drive is dying.

My biggest question is if i put a new HD in the box how do i get the TIVO software back onto the unit.

2nd is it possible to use the DTV Tivo boxes and install a 3rd party DVR service. It seems like it would work and give me a nice little box instead of a computer sitting there.

Please help me. Wife is going nuts from the DTV Tivo in the living room.

Do a google search for 'hinsdale howto' to get step-by-step instructions on how to do a hard drive replacement in a DTivo unit.

You could also try a C&D this will often speed your unit up.

You could also buy a new drive from weaknees with the software already on it.
