Transfer without converting?

Using Tivo Desktop 2.3a...I have no problems transferring programs, and then having them automatically converted for my Ipod. My problem is that there are a lot of programs that I want to transfer to save on my PC but don't want to convert...is there any way of doing that? I can't find anything about this, and I'm sick on sitting there watching my CPU get used up to do a conversion that I'm only going to delete as soon as it's done! Any help is greatly appreciated...

Yes, just turn off the automatic conversion under File - Preferences - Portable Devices.

Only turn it on when you want convert your downloaded shows, or leave it off all the time and use something like this (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=305532) to convert them later.

OK, thanks, but that turns off converting totally for ALL shows. Isn't there any way when you set up an auto transfer that you can say "transfer only" as opposed to "transfer and then convert"?

Nope, it's all or nothing.

That's why I suggested just turning it off, and then using the TiVo Converter Wrapper to just convert the recordings you want converted. Not fully automatic, but it works. Otherwise you just need to turn on and off the global conversion setting when you know your auto-transfer is going to be pulling down shows you do/do not want converted.
