View Full Version : Tivo to Go Transfers Keep Restarting

I have been trying to move a 3 hour baseball game to my PC. The transfer has been running almost 12 hours now and still no joy. The transfer gets a certain amount along the way then seems to restart. Most recently it got about 25% (approx. 1900 MB) before it suddenly was back to 150 MB the next time I checked. I am brand new to this so I have no idea where to start.

What file system is your PC using? FAT16 has a 2gb file limit and FAT32 has a 4gb file limit. I've seen that cause problems like you're describing in the past.

If you're using NTFS, the file size shouldn't be a problem.

What quality was the game recorded at? If 25% of the file is 1.9gb it sounds like maybe Medium or higher?

Ok, so it's probably not a file size issue. Is there adequate free space on the drive you're downloading to?

Also, you can try downloading directly through your browser, instead of TiVo Desktop. Point your browser to https://{your TiVo IP} (notice the 's' in 'https') and login with username 'tivo' and your MAK as the password.

Help......I have tivo desktop and the programs I am recording
are not transfering..I have checked my network status and its
ok....I am using a wireless to my rouoter.

I have a huge load of programs and I do not want to
have to delete them..I want them to transfer to
my laptop so I can burn them

We'll need a little more detail ...

Can you see your TiVo through TiVo Desktop? Can you connect to the https interface of your TiVo? What exactly is the error message/problem?

Tried through the browser, and also tried Tivo Playlist. Going through the browser I still stall out arounf the 2 gig mark and Tivo Playlist gives me a browser error.

Very frustrating.

Some web browsers have a file size limit around 2gb, that could explain why the http download errors out. You're dealing with a very large recording here.
