You want the TiVo to act as a web browser?
Or you want TiVo (the company) to resell internet access and have the TiVo box act as a gateway for other computer in your home?

I think either of those are pretty far outside what TiVo is focusing on...

Or did I misunderstand what you were asking for.

Back in 2000 AOL partnered with TiVo to produce a multi-purpose set top box that would be a DVR and MSNTV style system, like their AOLTV plus a DVR. But it dragged out and AOL ended up cancelling the product. WebTV/MSNTV has always been only a mild success, which is why others don't get into the market - there just isn't a return there.
