I've had TivoDesktop 2.0 installed for a while now, since it was released, everything was running fine I transferred a lot of recordings. Now I'm aware that there is a newer version but I didn't see any reason to upgrade and that's not the point.
The point is that this morning I boot the PC and get error message saying that a DLL was missing and TivoDesktop couldn't start. So I searched all my drives and the DLL wasn't found. This is pretty strange becasue my PC is well protected (Norton, Windows Defender, Zonealarm etc) and I'm sure it's virus free.
So I proceeded to uninstall TivoDesktop and reinstall the same version, 2.0.
I entered my media key, set the password etc, and at about 80% done during the installation this error message pops up which I wrote in the title. I tried it again, same thing.
I Googled it and got one result but that was of no help, also searched this site and got nothing. Could anyone tell me what the problem might be without suggesting to try 2.3? I have a good reason not wanting to install that and want to stay with 2.0 and I don't see why I shouldn't be able to reinstall that version.
Any help would be appreciated.
