Well, I looked in your FAQS and found noanswer for this. I have an 80 GB Series 2 TiVo and I really need more disk space. Is there a "supported" way to get MUCH more disk space? I don't want to become a TiVo hacker, I just want more disk space. I don't want to void my warranty or do anything illegal.

Sincerely,

Ed

Increasing disk space means putting in a new drive, which means opening up the box, which means voiding your warranty. It's not illegal, though. :)

The only supported by TiVo Inc., is by adding the large drive to your PC, and using TiVo2Go to archive and TiVoGoback to serve those recordings back to your DVR.

If I am to do this, wireless is my only option and I currently only have 802.11b. Is that enough or would I have to upgrade to whatever is the fastest wireless lan router now (g?)?

Get the bigger drive from Weaknees and choose the Deluxe Upgrade Service. Much better user experience, IMO. Much cheaper to do this (adding a drive) yourself, but if that is not your cup of tea, have them do it for you.

Deluxe Upgrade Service
We copy your settings and programming to the new drive(s) - you lose nothing! Your capacity will simply increase!

There's an entire forum here devoted to upgrading tivo hard drives.
