Now, you might not like all three shows, but we do. We have two TiVos but I'll put all three SPs onto one TiVo. Then I can just pad WaT in case CBS football runs long........

We'll be doing the same thing at our home. With Sunday Night Football on NBC that means we're not going to be using our second TiVo for anything on Sunday nights!

I have been wondering about how I am going to work around this. I think what I have decided to do is rather than pad WaT by 1 hour, I will instead create a manual recording on CBS from 11pm-12pm. The reason I want to do it this way is that Without a Trace is a show I don't usually watch right away and I often have several sitting in the Tivo. This way, if the show does not run over I can delete the extra hour right away instead of having to waste 2 hours of space per WaT episode.

This works out better for me than last year. Since we watch Cold Case and WaT, I can just pad WaT and it most likely won't interfere with anything else. Last year, my pad for Cold Case usually screwed something up from 9:00-10:00 ET. Although we dropped Desperate Housewives while football was still going on.

I sorta like the manual recording idea. You could take it further and set one up from 11-11:30 and 11:30-12, or even smaller increments. Although I usually didn't have much of a problem last year checking the guide to see whether there was a late game on CBS, then padding Cold Case if there was. In fact, most weeks I was home and was able to see when 60 Minutes started and then set up a manual recording for Cold Case just long enough to catch all of it - usually had to be 1:05 long unless it started right on a 5-minute increment.

Then again, I did miss one episode of Cold Case (well, the last half of it) because I had forgotten all about padding it. Considering that it won't interfere with anything in the 11:00 hour, I think I like this recurring manual recording idea. Thanks!

Good idea. I might have to do that as well. We had the same issue with Cold Case last year as we were always a couple of episodes behind.

Again, I have to agree this is seems like a better way to handle things than my original idea of padding WaT. If we don't get to watching WaT for a while, and it did not go over, then we just delete the manual recording......Cool!
