tivo and comcast on demand

Hello,

I would like to use my humax-tivo machine to record comcast hbo on demand programs. When I attempt to do so, it doesn't record the program that's on the tv, but the program from the channel that the machine is on. E.g. I use my comcast on demand to play "curb your enthusiasm", I hit the record button, the humax tivo machine does not record "curb your enthusiasm", but insteads records what ever is on channel espn(if my comcast digital machine is on espn), is there a way around this so I can record comcast on-demand stuff??

not that i know of i have cablevision and hbo is on its own channel and if i try to rec something it rec hbo on demand as the show name, not really the show or movie that i am watching. This is becuase tivo does not know what show/movie you are watching becuase its not in any guide data. So i would have to say you are out of luck sorry

I record ondemand with a SA2 tivo. In the TIVO set up a manual recording. I make the start time for the next upcoming 5 minute interval. (If it's 22 after the hour I set it for :25). Time duration is for the length of the show (and I add about 5 minutes to it). Channel is whatever channel your ondemand is.

Then I use the comcast remote to get the ondemand screen up with the show ready to go. WHen the time arrives (:25) I hit select and ondemand will start the show. It will record for the period of time that you manually set it up for.

(To change what was recorded you really have to mod your tivo. Then you would use a program called TivoWebPlus which allows you to change names of shows, etc. That's a bit beyond this forum. THere might be instructions in the Tivo Underground section.)

But you can record ondemand shows.I concur, that's exactly how I do it also, with the manual recording + a little padding time.

You can record it with manual timers. You cannot record it by program, or have the name match.
