Help... I'm trying to set up my TiVo with a wireless connection using DSL. The TiVo is getting onto the network (192.168.0.10) and I can ping it from my computer. But when it calls in it gets a 'TiVo service is not answering (N13)' error. I've set this TiVo up several times with wireless cable, but this DSL stuff is different. Any idea where it might be going wrong? Thanks!

I would think that there shouldn't be that much difference between cable and DSL.
What are you using for your wireless access point? Is it part of the DSL modem or separate?
Was the cable modem wireless?

I suspect that your IP address range has changed. The Home Media Features forum may be of more help.

I thought it would be similar too, and was not pleasantly surprised. It's Qwest DSL and the DSL modem also acts as the router. The D-Link router is just being used as a wireless access point. The TiVo is being assigned an address by the modem/router, but then it can't seem to get out to the TiVo service.

Does the DSL modem have a firewall? Probably. Is it set to allow the TiVo through?

Also, IIRC, you cannot use the WPA encryption when networking your TiVos. Check that. You might have to shift to WEP encryption.

Now, my $.02 from my IT auditor/consultant alter-ego......I know noone in here would do anything with it, but I would not put the IP address for your network in clear text. You still have your protections set up and all, but you have now provided the front door to your network. It's no biggie, but that's just me........ :)

I have you put DSL filters on all of your telephne jacks in the house. This might make a difference.

FYI, as I mentioned above, I am a IT techie/auditor/consultant, but up until last evening, I was only a dial-up user. We finally upgraded (to Verizon's 768kb level service for 14.95). For us, it seems so fast. Now, how to carefully work the WAF regarding two TiVo Wireless G adapters, a dvd burner, and some $ for Videoredo, or something similar (I already have a Wireless router).
