Just recently picked up a couple Buffalo TeraStation Pro NAS devices (1.5 Terrabyte in a RAID-5 configuration) which required me to move back to WinXP (since Ubuntu's Samba setup is somewhat broken).

I installed Tivo Desktop 2.3a, and then installed Galleon 2.3 Native version for Windows, making sure to add the Environmental Variable to up the memory to 128 megs.

Running the test option under Galleon shows both Tivos on our network, and I can use the transfer option to transfer shows from the Tivos to the PC. On the Tivos I can see the Galleon Photo and Music folders, although navigating to them shows only an empty folder. My Tivos are a model 140 and a model 540, both with 7.3.1.

The problem is that I can't seem to get the Tivos to see the computer running Galleon for the GoBack functionality. I've tried rebooting the Tivos with Galleon running, with no better success.

Have played with using JUST Tivo Desktop, and am having the same problem. I can see the Tivo, it can't see me.

I'm wondering if the problem might be that my NAS devices are on 192.168.11.xxx while my Tivo Network is on 192.168.0.xxx. My PC has cards that attach to both, but I wonder if the Beacon or something in Tivo Server are getting bothered by this.

Any ideas?

Well, a step forward, and a step back...

Turns out that in Tivo Server it lets you select which card is attached to the network - but has such a small display that I couldn't tell I had selected the wrong card. Once I set it to the right one, my Galleon GoBack directory showed up.

So far so good, right?

But, once I got to that directory on the Tivo, selecting it gave me a message that there were no recordings there. Actually, there are several directories there, and below each of them is the recorded files.

As you can imagine, the directory is on a mapped drive on my NAS device. Is the problem the subdirectories? Or the different subnet? Or ...

OK, found the problem. I had forgotten that while TivoDesktop prefers Mapped Network Drives, Galleon prefers full UNC paths. So once I replaced "S:\Home Movies" with ""\\Terra1\share\Home Movies" everything started working right.

Just so anyone else who runs into the problem knows...
