Just a little Heads up

"We’re not far off the timetable we established earlier this year," DirecTV director of public relations Robert Mercer said. "We are completing some additional testing on the software to ensure that the box is operating smoothly when we begin shipping to consumers nationwide in the September/October time frame. The receiver's performance thus far has been exceptional. and we're looking forward to the launch."

EXTREMLEY OLD NEW (regarding "Delayed Again" angle on it)

The HR20 is due to be introduced Mid August.
The HR20 will be available to the LA DMA first...

The "exact middle" would have been noon today.

But the 15th/16th could be considerd "center of august"
With the 2nd - 30th being the middle

2-30th as middle is a BIG stretch... 25thish is the most you can delay until you are beyond the middle...

Yes, I ment it as a joke... as no one would call August 2nd the middle of the month, nor the 30th... the 10th - 20th would be a little more "considerded" the middle of the month

I spoke with the retention department earlier this week regarding upgrading a D* receiver to an HR10-250 (already have two) or the new r15 (the TV is standard def). The rep laid out my options but one was to wait for the new HD DVR which he said would be rolled out in LA on August 16th and probably be available in my market (Wisconsin) by mid September or October.

Thats the same thing I was told when I called about my hr10-250 taking a dive. Although when they said they were replacing it the woman said they would be sending me a comparable model. When she said comparable I said you mean the same since there is only one she said no comparable, so i betting an r15 shows up and then I have to fight with them to get an hr10-250

actually, if you go to eBay and search for "DirecTV H20 600 HD" you will get a suprise (pictures and all)The H20 is not a DVR. The second auction shows a picture of a HD DVR box but the auction is for a H20.

Not sure which one of those auctions you where referring to.

The pictures where for the HR10-250's updated packaging, and for the H20 non-dvr reciever.

I know.. just interesting that they are billing it as an H20 600 and showing the HD DVR box...

someone is going to be very unhappy when they win this one.

Picture shows DirecTV HD DVR, but description states the auction is for an H20 HD Receiver, not a DVR.

The only other one I found is this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/DirecTV-HD-Receiver-H20-600-w-MPEG4_W0QQitemZ260020064714QQcmdZViewItem) which also is only an HD receiver, not a DVR.

The box in the picture for the first auction is interesting, but you did get that it wasn't a DVR up for auction, right? (This auction could mislead someone who doesn't read the descriptions carefully.)
