This morning when I fired up my TV I was greeted with a message telling me a software update had been installed on my TiVo. I now have version 7.3.1-oth-01-2-140. Aside from the "Get TiVo KidZone" option in my Messages and Settings, are there any other changes or improvements with this latest upgrade?

Thank you,
Joe

I was wondering the same thing.

So far I've also noticed that "Find Programs To Record" in the main menu has now become simply "Find Programs" and I've also noticed that when you display the advanced info on a program, next to the % of the hard drive it takes up, it also now gives the actual size of the program in GB. I can see where that would be useful if I were burning the program to a DVD (either directly or via my computer), but it still doesn't help me determine how much space is left on my hard drive, since I would have to add up that value for every program I have on the DVR, plus I would need to know the total exact space available. I just fail to understand why that is such a hard value for the DVR to show me, namely how much space I have filled (with non-suggestions). Even my Comcast DVR, which has vastly inferior software, can do that.

Anybody notice anything else, or could someone from TiVo actually enlighten us?

7.3.1 is a bugfix release of 7.3

7.3 brings Kidzone primarily. Sequential Delete (which is kinda buggy still), and the change to "Find Programs"

The %useage thing as been around since at least 7.2, maybe as far back as 7.1

I just started transferring a program from one DVR to another and I noticed that the TiVo "suggestion program" being recorded right then on the target machine stopped recording. Is it possible the new software upgrade includes a feature to make the DVR do this? I like the idea, since the transfer proceeds much more slowly if the target machine is also recording something. Obviously, one wouldn't want to stop a scheduled recording, but I can hardly think of a case where I wouldn't want the transfer to override the recording of a suggestion (and I suppose I could change the "keep until" date of the suggestion if I didn't want a transfer to cause it to stop recording).

BUT, on the other hand, is it possible I did something else right then to stop the suggestion from recording? I know of two ways to stop a suggestion recording in the middle: one is to actually select the item in the Suggestions menu and choose "stop recording" and one is to change the channel with the remote. But are there any others?
