Do you need the entire TiVo Desktop to watch movies?

I have a laptop that I travel with. I want to be able to watch my TiVo Shows without having to install the entire TiVo Desktop on it. Can I do this? What do I need to make it happen. Thanks! TJ

1. Run your files through DirectShow Dump on the machine that does have TivoDesktop installed.
2. Copy the freed .mpg files to your laptop.
3. Pray your laptop has an MPEG-2 codec that works. :D

If it doesn't, you can use Media Player Classic, which has a built-in MPEG2/SVCD/DVD codec.
