Hello all,

I am after a new Sky box since my Thomson box isn't really that great.
Would I able to use a Sky+ box? As Pace don't make regular Sky boxes.
I know I wouldn't be able to use the features etc, but that is why I have Tivo ;)
If so could anyone recommend a supplier? or would Sky do one for a good price?

Any help appreciated

Yes, a $ky+ works just fine as a source for TiVo (IR code 20017) - and if you don't use the pathetic "PVR" functionality you can get away with connecting it to a single LNB too ;)

Cheers, any ideas how much I should be paying for one?

It's nearly right. I think the only Pace digital satellite model that's available through the retail chain is the TDS470N PVR.

There are, of course, lots of second-hand non-PVR models available from people that got them via Sky.

Who told me? My local independant who fitted my box three weeks ago!

They havn't made them since the start of the year and now only make Sky+. Although there have been a number of new (DS430N) boxes still in circualtion since they stopped, they are now as expensive as a new Sky+ PVR 3 (£140) due to demand. I have heard they will start making them again in a couple of months. Apparently it was due to Pace wanting there name on the front of the new "designer" flow boxes and Sky wanting just the Sky logo. ;)
