I can get HD NBC directly through my tv's built in HD tuner but when hooked up to my Directv TiVo receiver I do not get that channel. I was told by Directv that they do not have permission to broadcast from NBC. Is this possible? I read another member's posting that said he was able to get NBC in Colorado Springs.

Thanks for your help.

All digital TV tuners are not created equal. It's not unusual for one tuner design to have different reception results from another.

The potential reasons and corresponding remedies are too numerous to recount in one post, but you should be able to find most of them explained in this forum.

I was that member saying I could get KOAA in Colorado Springs. I just checked and both tuners are still pulling it in at 92. I don't know who you talked to at Directv, but they sounded confused. You can get any digital OTA signal on the HD-Tivo. You are checking on channel 42 right? For more help on this subject, there is a Colorado Springs OTA thread set up over at Avsforum. I have looked at channel 42 and it is not there either.
Should I be looking at amplifying the signal?

Thanks

Did you do an OTA setup in the "settings" menu?
Have you tried entering 42 from you remote instead of looking for it?
Do you have it as 1 of your "channels I receive"?
Have you tried a re-scan of OTA Channels?

I did go back through the original setup. neither 5-1 nor 42 are in my "channel I receive". Is there a function for re-scanning of the OTA channels? I assumed it did that during the initial setup. I bought an amplifier and that did not help.

I live 3 miles east of I25 off Baptist Rd. I am getting 5-1 and 42-1 - KOAA, Colorado Springs - with signal strength of about 79 to 83 on my HR10-250.

I had some issues at first with low signals and finally ran a direct rg6 line from the ant to the HDTivo, bypassing diplexers and splitters. Now I'm in business with a good solid signal.
