I read that several people said that they had to put a $400 hold on their credit card when ordering their Humax replacement. I called report problem with mine. She had me to put $210 hold on my credit card until I returned the unit. Do you think this is for a reburbished one? The person on the phone said she did not know if it would be new or refurbished. I'm thinking because they put a lower hold on my card it will be refurbished. Do any of you know whether or not they usually send out refurbished?

Dont know. Guy from Tivo said Humax quit making the models they were. Probably too many problems.

It was refurbished. :-( Does any other company make the tivo units with burners?

No one is still making DVD-R TiVos. Pioneer and Toshiba also made them, but Humax as the last to produce them.
