I am using the original Pace Sky digital box (about 3 years old now) with my Tivo - connected by scart. There apear to be many different models of Sky Digital box available on eBay and I was wondering if there are any significant picture quality improvements to be had from any of these or whether they are all much of a muchness?

There isn't much in PQ but reliability is an issue - you won't do much better than Pace.

As mine's been running constantly since I bought it, without a hitch, I'll stick with it then. Thanks for the advice. :)

Personally I would go for a grundig, just had to replace my old panasonic. They appear to be good and fast, too.

Also they have S Video out, not much good for tivo just now, but you never know...

The best quality and very expensive Sky digital box for use with TiVo is Sky HD.

If you dont want Sky's pay channels you can use the Pace or Humax High Definition satellite boxes that will display the BBC HD preview channel. If you record this channel using TiVo it will look better than anything on standard def Sky or Freeview.

If you aren't interested in recording off the HD channels and want the best possible SD quality a pricey option is to get an SDI modded Pace,an SDI mod for your TiVo and an SDI video processor.

Sorry for my ignorance but what is SDI and where can I get the mods?
