my hd tivo's been laggin' lately ...

hey all -

both me and wifey have noticed that our hd tivo has been kinda laggin' lately. when we set it to record a show, modify the season pass, whatever ... that "please wait" thing stays up for quite a while ... sometimes as long as two or three minutes.

it never used to do that.

i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. also, is there some way to reformat/restore the thing?

Try this for now:

Tune both tuners to a channel you don't get, (1 and 0 work) that will stop the buffering and free up the CPU for other things, like setting recordings or modifying Season Passes.

Then wait till 6.3 is released, as it is supposed to speed things up considerably.

If you are not using suggestions then "Clear thumbs ratings" will cut down on the database size.

Cleaning up your SP list (if you have some old stuff) helps.

I tried doing that last night and I didn't notice any difference in the speed at which the SP's got sorted. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to upgrade the cpu these?

check out the clear/delete thread on this page...if you have a lot of SP it's a pain, but others say it's a guaranteed short term fix
