I've had some problems with HDs that I baked using InstantCake v6.2 for the HDVR2 series. I'm wondering if the jumper setting on the back of the HDs makes a difference. I've always set them to CS (Cable Select) because that's what the original HDs that came with the DTV boxes were set to. If I were to set it to Master, would it make a difference?

Either the drive will work or it won't work, changing the jumper won't make it "sometimes work".

I have always set mine to Master & Slave.
Try it - it won't hurt anything - just take a few minutes - but theoretically it should not make a difference.
