Questions about TiVo new purchase Plan

Ok a quick question about TiVo's new box purchase plan.

I need to clarify something about the new TiVo box/service bundle purchase plan. After the initial period of purchasing the box/service will the box then become eligible for the multiple service discount plan?

Yes, but you'll have to call after the period is over or they will just keep charging you the same price.

But if you have another monthly box, the bundle box will allow your other monthly to get the MSD at 6.95.

I've already got 2 Series 2 TiVo's - one with lifetime and one on MSD as a result of the lifetime box. I was thinking about getting the 180 DT hour box and thought this was a good deal to let TiVo carry the cost rather than waiting for the $150 rebate.

You actually might be in a situation where you would be better off getting the DT outright rather than through TiVo. Then you don't have to worry about calling after a year AND you would go right onto MSD for the Box.......But of course you have rebates to deal with.....

Just did the math - the savings by purchasing outright with the rebate is $86.01 when figuring in the higher cost of service over the cost of multiplie discounted service.
