Given the fact that probably 90% of programming will still be SD for a few years to come, are you sure you need to lose the functionality of your TiVo for that? By all means, use your HD recorder to record the few HD programmes there are, but you might as well keep the TiVo for the rest.

Its not a decision Ive taken lighty, ive loved my Tivo, infact i miss it dearly already since disconnecting it, but alas ive just moved house to where freeview is poor reception, and the functionality of $ky + dual tuner has been come desirable, plus I want to stretch the legs of my new HD Panasonic Plasma too. The plasma is great picture quality but the classic over saturated luminance of tivo really stands out on it. totally overcooked whites even with the brightness & contast turned down compared to a direct $ky feed.
I will always rave about tivo and in fact WHEN they do come back to the UK I shall almost certainly invest.

I have just cancelled NTL and will be going SKY. It would seem I can get SKY+ for the same price as a normal SKY box. Given that I want to continue using Tivo would I be better off with a normal box or can I make full reliable use of SKY+ and benefit from the extra tuner??? I do not wish to pay extra for multi-room or HD.
