Anyone ever had any trouble with their screen going green?
My mate's TiVo does this about once a week and it has to be power cycled before it will work again.
Any ideas?

It depends on what you mean by the "screen going green". If for some reason the video is suddenly losing all colours apart from green and the power cycle is the only way of fixing it, this is a strange sounding problem and I don't know what would cause that sort of thing to happen.
If however you mean the Green Screen Of Death (GSOD) as seen on this page (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=290296) then it's almost certainly the hard drive on the way out (though power supply faliure has also been known to cause strange things to happen).

I think it is the former as there is no message displayed, just a plain green screen. We're going to be doing a harddrive upgrade tomorrow anyway so that might sort the green screen problem at the same time.

You can lose colours from a picture when the SCART plug is not fully-fitted. As to whether you would lose the picture data as well, I wouldn't know. I've seen coloured blank screens appear due to a faulty set-top box, but usually you would need to power-cycle the box, and not the TiVo to correct this. It could be due to borderline signal-levels from a set-top box, which causes the TiVo to sometimes 'switch-off' the input.
