I really want to record my home tapes before they can no longer be seen
You know ...the wedding , baby stuff....
record them on TiVO then upload to the computer to burn a dvd.
I want to be able to record with the input jacks with some kind of timer(like in 15 minutes intervals) and maybe simple titles.
True I can record with the tuner if I can time the start just right.
but it could be much simpler with the timer and the input jacks.
Just start the tape hit record and set the timer like the sleep button on my clock radio

The Humax DRT-800 can do most if not all of this

Thanks.
It may, but I have two Series 2's and if I'm buying anything it would be a dual tuner TiVo(and I'm not)

Yeah, all the DVD-R boxes have a second set of inputs and have an option to 'Record from Camera or VCR' right in the menus.

I've said in the past this would be nice on standalone boxes - even if they don't add a second set of inputs, add the software fuctionality (which already exists) so people can use the existing inputs to capture things.
