I have TiVo Model # TCD540080, series 2.

The problem that I currently having is, the channel changing is incompleted. I am currently subscribing to DirecTV. The TiVo box seems to skip the first digit.

For example, if the program was set to have the channel changes to channel 244, it changed to 44. It seems to skip the first digit for a reason. It did the same to the premium channel, such as Cinemax (524), it changed to 24.

However, it did not occur every time. 90% of the time, the box recorded correctly, based on what I previously programmed. The 10% were turning out to be a waste because I did not get anything except black screen.

All of the programs were recorded unattended. I later knew the results because I checked the label banner. I knew it right away that it skipped the first digit.

I did some on-line testing and it did not have any problems. The channels changed and 100% perfect during the test. TiVo changed the channel, left and right. The test has never failed.

My friend told me that there is a menu to have the channel changing to "slow down." I have not seen that menu and I am unsure whether it exists. I checked the IR cable and it seems to be in a good condition.

Any advices you have will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

There's a menu option, not sure exactly where, sorry, that lets you select the speed the digits are "fired" to the cable box. If you manually select the channel with the TiVo remote's keypad does the sat box change properly? If so, you DO need to change the speed. Look in Settings around Channel changing and you should find it. It's probably AFTER you select the remote code.

Thank you for your reply.

I will check the box again when I go back home. I am unsure what menu I should use in order to make the channel changing slow down.

Based on your question, when I did manually change the channel via the remote control, the satellite channel changes with no problem.

Thank you for your response. If you know the menu to slow down the channel changing, please post them for me. Thanks again.
