I have a Series 1 Tivo which I upgraded from a single 20GB to a dual drive (using the original 20Gb and a 100GB). Later I moved everything from the dual drive to a single 160GB. The 160GB suddenly stopped working (though the drive seems fine) and I'm trying to restore from my old Dual drive setup (preserved as a backup) but the 100GB B drive doesn't seem to work anymore (it isn't recognized in the BIOS or in the boot sequence as hd(x).

I have a 120GB I can use in place of the 100GB B drive and I've read through Hinsdale but I don't see any way to just add a drive to the A without first backing up the original A and B. Since I cannot seem to backup B, what do I do?

Thanks.

If you don't have a viable backup image you can restore then you can either contact Stan Simmons here to download an image from an FTP site or you can purchase an Instantcake CD image from PTVUpgrade for your model Tivo.
