No TV manufacturer is building DirecTV satellite receivers into their TV's. If you want to get DirecTV, you'll need to subscribe to DirecTV and get either a receiver or a DirecTV DVR (not Tivo) or a HR10-250 (HD DirecTivo). Current subscribers can buy a used/refurbished SD DirecTivo from elsewhere and activate it thru DirecTV buy installing a 20 Access card.

Most new HD TV's include a built-in HD Tuner - so you can receive HD TV broadcast's if you connect to an antenna.

I'm currently using a series 2 SD DirecTivo with a HD TV and it looks good. Since the HD TV has higher resolution - MPEG artifacts are more noticeable than a regular TV but I still think it's an improvement over a regular TV.

Here's a 20" Humax LCD TV (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7891338&type=product&id=1149205182607) and a 10" Samsung LCD TV (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7805388&type=product&id=1142293792993), each with a built-in DirecTV receiver. I would assume that each TV also comes with a DirecTV access card in the packaging, just like stand-alone receivers, and you would just have to pick up the phone to call and activate your TV/receiver combo.

Now double the size and they got something. 20 in may be good for a monitor but not a tv. Ok in a 7 year olds room perhaps but not in the living room

"Prices shown are "lease upgrade fees." Additional $4.99/mo. lease fee applies for each DIRECTV Receiver you add. Programming commitment required. "

...and they mean what they say when they say receiver. The TV's with a built in receiver certainly have the $4.99 since it is a peice of equipment that recieves DTV's signal. The TV's with built in receivers are certainly owned.

Best Buy and others got lots of flack when the lease program began with DTV and now say lease for anything remotely involved with DTV. The TV's (as the single exception) are owned, however.
