I recently purchased a new computer and want to play my TiVo files on it, but I am getting an error message from WMP 11. I've downloaded the latest TiVo to go software. I originally recorded my TiVo files on my old machine. I places these on an external hard drive, but when I copy these to the new machine, I get an error message saying that WMP cannot play the file. I've checked the codecs, and they all seem to be in place. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Sounds like you may still have a codec issue though. You could upgrade to Tivo Desktop Plus, it comes with the necessary codec. Or you could try installing some of the free or pay ones.

Do you have the correct Media Access Code? This must match the code on the TiVo where the recordings were made.

The should generate this error message: "The specified network password is incorrect." At least it does on my machine with WMP10.
What exact error message are you seeing?

Did you actually install TiVo Desktop on the new machine where you are trying to play the .tivo files?
