Help please with slow channel changing

We have had TIVO service since March and my husband has always had a problem with the slowness of the remote when changing channels. Now, for some reason, our tv is showing the time bar at the bottom everytime :) we change channels and this is slowing down the channel flicking even more! Is there some way this can be removed? This bar, I believe, just started appearing after the last update (last week) that was sent by TIVO. Thanks for any help you can give me. DM

Have you tried rebooting? (Unplugging from electric power and letting the TiVo sit for a minute before plugging it back in.)

I've got the same problem....I tried restarting the unit thru the menu...that didn't work....I'll try unplugging it tonight.

That didn't work...it's still there..slowing the channel changing to a crawl

After 2 calls to Tivo...they say there is a software issue and it will be resolved "within a month"

Great.....Use the guide to look for channels....it's too painful to go channel by channel

this is very good news as I was considering just leaving my tivo on the curb because of the live tv slowness.

The slowness is simply caused by the 7.3/7.3.1 updates.

"Within a month" .....huh, another update? Excellent.
