I know there's a weekly thread, but it's creating little enthusiasm so I started a separate one. Deadwood has been a disappointment so far. Not a major one, but the show definitely has not kept pace with the fantastic first two seasons. While it might end strong I never remember it suffering a stretch this dull. I used to want to watch each episode twice and recently I am often indifferent during the intial viewing. I could care less about the acting group. I still love old characters Trixie/Jane/Al etc., but they have failed on quite a few of the new ones as well as Bullock. This show was great nearly every episode the first two years and I don't think it's been at that level this round.

It's not as violent from episode to episode, but my opinion is that this is this season is on par with the previous 2 seasons. Some of the very best monologue/soliloquy bits have been from this batch of episodes.

I don't know if I could disgaree more. I have really enjoyed this season. It has been one big ball of tension. It almost gets to the point where I can't take it any more.

The full fleshing out of Hearst has been an awesome addition to this season, and I would put his story line at or near the top of the list for any the show has had.

I don't know why you find it dull... I find it anything but this season. I think it had more boring spots in the first two seasons, when some characters were not fleshed out and some directions were unknown.

I do find it intersting that in recent weeks major characters have been absent from entire shows at a time, and this used to not be the case.

Needs more cinnamon. :)I don't know why, but I love the title of that episode. "Unauthorized Cinnamon" is just about my all time favorite episode title for any series.

Huh? We've had thread lengths of 98, 82, 85...

We'll have to agree to disagree. This is the best drama show on TV (IMHO). I look forward to each show. The dialogue is so thick & rich, the plot so intriguing, I don't know what more one could want. Dull? Are we watching the same show? Even the acting troupe, while seemingly tangential to the main story, adds to the tapestry of life this show presents us.

Best. Show. On. TV.

i disagree, this season has been the best of the 3. the fight scene alone makes for the best episode of the series, imnsho
