Hi all, I have ordered a TiVo DT to hook up to my Comcast basic cable and was planning on placing it near my Directv Tivo. Then I was thinking about the remotes,
and the possibility that I might have a problem. Any of you guys run into a situation like this? Is it possible to change the code on one of them?

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Can be done. Try this:

Just remember when they say "cover the IR receiver" you have to use something like a towel. Or it won't work.

Thanks guys for the quick replies, thats seems to be the answer to the problem I was imaging I might be running into. My new TiVo should be here sometime next week, I will let you know how it goes.

You don't really need to cover the IR receptors on the other Tivos when changing the code. Just place any other Tivos in standby and access the system information screen using the front panel buttons, assuming your model has them. Otherwise, cover the IR windows (I use a magazine for this; a towel can still let the IR signal through).

And, change the code for both units, as an address of 0 will control any unit regardless of its code.
