All Remotes Stopped Working!!!!

Hiya,

Please tell me where to post if this is the wrong forum. My NTL STB stopped responding to the remote 2 days ago. At the same time i noticed that my Tivo also stopped and my amp also appears to be not repsonding to the remote. This is where is gets weird, i dont use a universal remote!!!! I use seperate remotes. I know this sounds like a wind up but i have left everything switched off for a night and it's still the same situation!

I'm at a loss what to do...

Sounds like there may be some stray IR in the room.

Have you checked all the remotes, is there anything pressing down on any of the keys?

Do you use a video sender, these can "leak" IR?

Have you recently installed low wattage light bulbs, again these have been known to cause problems in the past.

Maybe someone's punking you and stole the batteries or put them in backwards!

My thoughts exactly, I once had the same problem but with a TV - turned out that a mag was pressing down on one of the numerous remotes that were lying around.
