Version 6.2....What does it mean

I was looking at some direct tv tivo's on Ebay and saw some that were advertising that they have version 6.2

What is the difference between this version and the others that I see on there?
Is this a special version that i need?

Basically... 6.2 is the latest software for the Series 2 units.
Nothing special about it, other then the unit has already been updated.

If you get one with an older software version, and it is a Series 2 based unit (aka usb ports on the back)... it will update with in a week or so to 6.2

Note: R10's come with 6.1 and 6.1 is the latest version for that unit.

So is there model that i should be looking for then besides the R10?Look for dsr 708(hackable) w 80 gig drive or dsr 704 40 gig drive or hughes dvr 40. The r10 can not be hacked to get more features the first 3 I mentioned can. If you are good with pcs get a 40 gig unit and bump up the drive.

Does the Home Media Option work with the dsr 708?
