I am beind the times, apparently, as I just saw a mention of Guru Guides today while scheduling something in Tivo online. I did a search and read what few posts there were on them, but I was wondering what people's personal experiences have been with the Guru Guides so far? I am very tempted to subscribe to EW's TV and movies, but am always a little hesitant to try something new without reading anything on it first.

In their current form, I find them to be worthless... For example you'd figure the CNET one would point out interesting tech shows, when it's their editor's all-over-the-map show preferences (Rockstar?). Also many suggestions are not available on my channel line up. Is it any surprise Sandra Oh recommends Grey's Anatomy and Donald Trump... The Apprentice? On-unit TiVo Suggestions are sufficient for my needs. I'll be more interested in Guru Guides when we can publish our own Guides and share with friends.

Check out http://tivo.com/guruguides to view the different recording lists and subscribe. It costs you nothing to subscribe and try it out. You can always modify or cancel.

As a motor sports fan and general car guy I've enjoyed most of the shows that the Auto by Automobile Magazine have picked. Like Dave said, it costs you nothing to try it and you can cancel at any time.
