I just bought the 80 hour Dual Tuner and I love it, however, the temperature runs about 48 degrees which is 7 degrees warmer than the single tuner TiVo. They are both sitting side by side on an open shelf with no air blockages. Do the DT TiVos just run hotter or are the temperature sensors just not that accurate? 48 degrees seems a little warm. We keep our house around 82 degrees (fahrenheit of course).

The temperature is taken at a different location inside the box, apparently. The higher temp is fairly universal to all DTs. No danger.

I've gotten my old DirecTivo to 56 degrees, it stills says normal, but I decided to give it a little more ventilation. It's usually around mid to high 40's. Oh, my new DT is about 48 also.

How do you know this? Where are the sensors? Don't read my post as trying to start a fight, I'm just curious :)

Mine is at 48C (Normal).

You can find the internal temperature if you scroll down in the System Information screen.

My question is where on the board, and how many are there?

Not sure off hand, I haven't gone looking exactly. But I believe there is one sensor.
