View Full Version : FilmFour 'The Godfather' asked for PIN

For the first time I noticed that my 2100 Tivo recording of 'The Godfather' on Film Four tonight changed to a blank screen with a request for my 'PIN'. I'm using a Sky Panasonic Digibox.
This is the first time I've seen this. Fortunately I discovered that FilmFour+1 had it showing an hour later.
Is there any way to work around this with the Tivo scheduled recordings? Seems like I'm going to end up with a lot of blank screens if the film content requires a PIN.
My understanding is that this cannot be turned off in the Sky preferences menu.
Thanks.

There is a thread already discussing this problem - which Sky are now addressing.

Thanks Ozsat.
I'll try to find that thread. I read quite a bit of stuff suggesting a solution early this year, but could not find a recent post on the subject.

I think the thread must be on some other forum, I can't find one here either.
What's all this talk of a PIN ? I've watched FilmFour since it went free for a couple of films and not needed a PIN. They were those Marx Bros films they showed in the first week. Was it because The Godfather would probably be 18 rated? Is that the reason for the PIN?
Ozsat, do you think Sky are going to stop asking for the PIN? If not, how do we get such a thing? Is it perhaps because pipkato has inadvertently enabled the child safety feature of his Sky box ?

I think Sky are updating the boxes software so pre watershed movies will no longer require a pin to view (extra option under pin restrictions).
Some Sky+ boxes I think already have this update but not Sky HD yet :(

Thanks for those responses. I can't find any option to switch off this PIN restriction and I'm using a standard Sky box. I know nothing about Sky+ or Sky HD. The best answer would appear to select Channel 316 on Sky which is Film Four one hour later.
