My old Tivo could switch from tuner to tuner by pressing live tv to go to each tuner. My new unit, the R15 doesn't seem to have this capability. Any idea on how to switch tuners?

there is none....one of the many downfalls of the r15 that DTV has not addressed yet. The only thing you can do is hit record for the channel you're on...then switch to another channel.

Or you can go into MyVod, and select your other recording.
Or you can hit PREV-Channel, if you have two recordings.
The R15 doesn't have dual live buffers as the TiVo does.

"The R15 doesn't have dual live buffers as the TiVo does."
Are there legal reasons for this, or did D just screw up? It's a major deal breaker for me.

One of my DirecTV/TIVO combo units had a hard drive go bad. So, I called DirecTV and asked what they could do for me - they said they would "ship a new unit to me" and all I had to pay was shipping.
I said, "great!"
When the box arrived, and I plugged up the DirecTV R15 - my disappointment grew with every interaction with this device. After two weeks of frustration, I sent the thing back, purchased a TIVO hard drive from WeakNees (should have done this first anyway) and was back to proper DVR operation with my old Samsung DirecTV/Tivo unit.
R15 = a major disappointment. You can easily find many poor reviews on this device at many sites around the internet.

Given it's rough start.... I am not surprised by that...
Given where TiVo was (is), and how the R15 came out of the box.... yah, it's warranted.
What I would like to see, is most of the reviews... Revisited with a "semi-blind eye" to the past, in November (simply because that will be the 1 year mark)...
And see if the reviews are the same.
My review back in Novemember... was more of an on the fly, blog, as things where going on.... Not much in there about real usage of the system, as it was all done with in like 48 hours of the unit being built.
If I was to sit and re-do the review today... objectively... just based on what it can and can't do... things would be different... and I would expect most of the "negative" review out there would be different too...
But none the less.... As long as the DTivos are functioning, and the replacement parts are still there... there is no reason, not to repair it ... especially if you are used to it's interface.

The Objective part (as there is a lot of people that probably think I couldn't do it), or the review in generall... :)
I probably will, once I get done with the next review... which is going to have a much different feel to my previous 4 (R10, R15, Flip Top, and Big Button Remote)
I've learned some things from seeing other review "styles" and formats...
And hopefully will be able to put that to good use in my next 3 reviews... hopefully 4...
