View Full Version : Another wife anecdote...

Last night my wife griped that our local Comcast office move CMT (No wise cracks please. My wife and kids are so into Country Music it is starting to rub off on me.) off the analog tier and into the digital tier. We can't tune it any more.
The only response I could come up with was 'well, when the S3 comes out we will be able to get it again.'
By the way, the TiVo is probably the only technology product that I splurged on that she is actually happy with. With the CMT channel move, it will be an easier sell for me to convince her to upgrade to the S3.

Why wait for the S3? Get a S2 Dual-Tuner now.
* Record from two basic cable channels, or one basic cable and one digital cable channel, at once. Does not support recording from two digital cable or satellite channels at once. Supports recording from cable and satellite sources only; does not support recording from over-the-air antenna.

That's your story and your sticking to it ;)

Why can't a series 2 tune to a digital channel? I thought they could.

Not without a cable box that's controlled via the IR Blasters or a serial cable.

I thought that just about all cable boxes were controllable by a TiVo via IR. So some aren't, but people buy TiVos for them anyway, with the understanding that not all channels will be tuned to?

The OP doesn't have a digital cable box.

I was about to say that. He probably has basic cable only.

Fair enough. After all, I'm still on analog cable because I don't want to have Comcast boxes in my setup either.
Bummer for your wife, though. :(
