to the bedroom and I would like to use both tuners.
Do I need to run an extra line from the satellite or is there a 1x2 Multi-switch I can use? I tried the older 2x4 switch, but it did not work.

You need to run a second line, unless you want to spend about $300 for a stacking/destacking setup.

Check ebay for a stacker and destacker. I got several from pcnursesonline. $40/ea.
